Note: This is an independent contractor role that can be done remotely from home. Compensation is entirely performance-based. A person in this role can expect to earn anywhere from $60-$100 per hour worked (please see compensation breakdown below), and should expect to put in about an hour of work per week. This role is not designed to be a full time job, rather to supplement income while sharing about mental health resources.
About us:
Swell is building a mental health platform for the middle working class. The people who can’t afford to pay hundreds out of pocket for therapy.
While Swell is inclusive for all Kentuckians & Tennesseans, our platform has specifically been designed with military families (military spouses in particular) & first responders in mind. While many mental health issues are universal, our therapists get additional training/support for issues that disproportionately affect service members, military spouses, and first responders. We’ve expanded access to additional insurers so that more people in Tennessee and Kentucky can access care, and we do everything in our power to make connecting with a therapist easier.
We currently accept (are in-network with) Tricare, Cigna & Aetna in Tennessee, + Tricare, Cigna & Aetna in Kentucky & are actively working to expand access to more people in Tennessee & Kentucky through insurance and employer plans.
Clients can find and book with a therapist directly in our app, and we’re doing everything we can to never have a waitlist. We’re also building free therapy tools for clients to use in-between sessions that help them get better faster.
The Advocate Program:
In the year and a half since we launched our app to military spouses near Fort Campbell, we’ve heard time and time again that people were waiting for months to see a therapist before they found us. No one should have to wait that long for mental health care.
Most people learn about us through (1) word-of-mouth from existing clients and (2) posts in facebook groups from people who have come to our free self-care nights we put on each quarter for military spouses.
As we grow to provide care to as many people as we can, we’ll need help getting the word out while we do it. We also know it’s a rough job market out there and many people are looking for ways to make money from home. That’s where you come in.
We created an “advocate program” to compensate people for spreading the news about Swell. Advocates will keep a lookout in regional facebook groups for posts about needing mental health support & comment to let people know that we’re an option. That’s it!
We compensate advocates for their work spreading the word as people join our platform.
This works a lot like an influencer-affiliate program, but for every day people. The key differences are (1) we don’t expect you to ‘influence’ anyone - just to let them know that we’re an option, and (2) we compensate more than a traditional affiliate program.
Advocate Role Details:
As an advocate, you would join online communities (like facebook groups) and engage in posts where there's an opportunity to share about Swell. (More details with specific examples & how-to's provided upon applying)
We compensate our advocate community $25 for every 5 people who learn about (and sign-up on) our platform through social efforts. In our first 2 weeks piloting this with 1 advocate, our advocate spent 20-30 minutes posting (:1-2 minutes per post) and earned $40.
As an advocate, you'd be assigned a unique link that's specific to you. When you post about Swell and link to our site, we'll know that web traffic came from you. When people sign-up on our platform, we ask where they heard about us. If they say for example "facebook" or "reddit", we count it as a social sign-up. At the end of the month, we review all sign-ups that came from facebook, and allocate the advocacy bonuses accordingly.
