Location
REMOTE, Contiguous U.S., with a hub in Lexington, KY.

 

Position

The Software Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for the ongoing testing and quality control of all software developed at APAX Software. This includes understanding software requirements and business objectives, writing detailed testing plans and executing those plans, performing feature-specific testing during the development cycle, performing full product testing prior to production releases, and working closely with developers to assist with quality goals.

 

What You'll Do

  • Design, develop and execute test cases and test plans

  • Work with different teams of developers on several different projects simultaneously

  • Write manual test cases that cover both the basic and exception scenarios to deliver a high-quality product to users

  • Draft and execute project test plans at various levels of development

  • QA and deploy new features and products with minimal bugs

  • Triage bugs and confidently prioritize them against current and future project work

  • Understand the projects fully and the use cases on different types of devices (both desktop and mobile) from the user’s perspective

  • Define and document best QA practices to continually innovate on the position

 

What To Bring

  • Good understanding of QA processes, tools, and methodologies

  • Passion for delivering high-quality digital products to users

  • Strong written and verbal communications skills

  • Technical background/understanding of how development products are built

  • Previous exposure to JIRA or similar project management software

  • Strong teamwork skills— the ability to work with both Project Managers and Developers, experience working with development teams as well as the confidence and skill to communicate your ideas clearly.

  • Direct client interaction experience with the ability to build relationships, understand client vision/direction, and present designs and concepts.

  • An understanding of or experience in Agile software development
